We spent 3 incredibly busy and wonderful days exploring the temples of Angkor Wat. It was pretty fun visiting the crumbling buildings and trying to imagine what life was like in these ancient temples back in the days of the Khmer Empire. The first day we hired a tuk-tuk driver to take us to the temples located farther out of the city. We passed through adorable little neighborhoods, farms, countryside and played around a temple near a waterfall. We also visited a landmine museum where we learned all about this man and his NGO working to clear the millions of landmines left in the country after the Vietnam War. The second day we spent a somewhat anti-climatic sunrise at one of the main temples (picture below) and spent the rest of the day running around seeing as many temples as we could squeeze in the day. And the last day we traded in our individual bikes for a tandem bike. It was awesome. I'm pretty sure every single person we rode past had a laugh and we certainly didn't stop giggling all day.
